Bass Trap Corner Panels — 12"×12"×48" (Pair)Low-Freq Control

Bass Control

Bass Trap Corner Panels

NRC 0.9512"Pair treats 2 corners

Bass traps are the most effective acoustic treatment you can add to a room. Low frequencies pile up in corners, causing muddy bass and uneven frequency response. Our rigid fiberglass corner bass traps are 12" thick and 48" tall — deep enough to control frequencies down to 40 Hz. Sold as a pair for balanced treatment.

Studio Foam

Pyramid Foam 24-Pack

NRC 0.852"24 sqft per pack

Our pyramid acoustic foam panels offer slightly higher NRC performance than the standard wedge pattern, thanks to the pyramid geometry increasing effective surface area. FAQ

Common questions

Answers to the most common questions about acoustic panels and soundproofing.

All questions
What is the difference between soundproofing and sound absorption?+

Soundproofing (also called "sound blocking") prevents sound from passing through a surface — wall, floor, or ceiling. Sound absorption reduces reflections and reverberation inside a room. Most acoustic panels — foam, fabric-wrapped, bass traps — are absorbers, not soundproofers. If your goal is to stop noise coming from outside the room, you need mass-loaded vinyl, decoupling, or dedicated soundproofing panels. If your goal is better sound quality inside the room, acoustic absorbers are the right choice.

How many acoustic panels do I need?+

A good rule of thumb is to treat 15–25% of the total wall surface area with absorption. For a 10'×12' room (576 sqft of wall+ceiling surface), start with 80–120 square feet of acoustic panels. Prioritize the primary reflection points: the wall behind your speakers/screen, the side walls at the listening position, and the ceiling above. For recording vocals or instruments, treat more of the room for a drier sound. Our quote form helps us calculate exact coverage for your specific room.

What does NRC rating mean?+

NRC stands for Noise Reduction Coefficient — a number from 0.0 to 1.0 measuring how much sound a material absorbs. An NRC of 0.85 means the panel absorbs 85% of the sound that hits it and reflects only 15%. Higher NRC = more absorption. Bare concrete has NRC around 0.02; our acoustic foam panels range from 0.75 to 0.95 depending on thickness and material.

Where should I place acoustic panels in a home studio?+

Start with the four primary reflection points: (1) the wall directly behind your monitor speakers, (2) the left side wall at the mix position, (3) the right side wall at the mix position, and (4) the ceiling above the listening position ("cloud"). Then add bass traps in every corner — floor-to-ceiling if possible. Finally, treat the rear wall to control rear reflections. This basic setup will transform room acoustics even in a small bedroom studio.
